COVID 19 Update - 07/01/21

While we remain under a national lockdown, we will continue to suspend most of our activities until further notice. However, we will continue to run the Sawtry Foodbank, the Sawtry Covid Response Team, and the Sawtry Eye magazine.

The government's guidelines for lockdown are now in place to control the number of Covid cases. We can all do our bit to stop Covid in its tracks and help bring virus levels down.

  • Reduce all non- essential contact with people you don't live with
  • Stay home as much as possible – except for education, exercise and essential shopping
  • Work from home where you can
  • Where you can't work from home – be even more Covid-secure (keep your distance, wash your hands, wear a face covering)

Don’t spread the virus. Protect our loved ones, the most vulnerable in our communities and the NHS to help us get back to the things we love sooner.

CARESCO continues to manage the local volunteer Sawtry Covid Response Team who have worked tirelessly over the past few months to support local people during lockdown and the ongoing restrictions. For details of the amazing service they have been providing, you can click here to see some of the stats involved from the end of March 2020 until August 2020. Thank you to this amazing team.

The Sawtry Eye magazine for February - March 21 will be published as usual and delivered house-to-house in the normal way. The Eye is also available to download from the Sawtry Eye page along with back issues to October 2008.

For all other general enquiries, please contact us or leave a message on the office answerphone 01487 832105 and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding

At CARESCO our Fridays are different from the rest of the week and the main room in the CARESCO Centre is taken over by the Coffee Shop, our weekly café, which is open 9 - 11.30am.

The Coffee Shop is an important part of village life having begun as a fundraiser when the building fund was started to replace our original HQ, the Homecraft Centre .

Providing a place where people can meet for coffee and cake, the Coffee Shop has a wide range of customers looking to enjoy some relaxed downtime with friends. Staffed by volunteer helpers, all proceeds raised go towards the running costs of the charity.
