At CARESCO our Fridays are different from the rest of the week. The day care projects close and the main room is taken over by the Nearly New shop and the Coffee Shop which are open 9 - 11.30am term time (9.45 - 11.30am during school holidays).
Open Friday mornings (term time only), the Nearly New provides a local second-hand shop for the community acting as an agency selling children's and ladies' clothes, household linen and small toys. Items are sold on behalf of customers, with a proportion of the price going to CARESCO, any funds raised will go to help further our other work.
Running alongside the Nearly New is the Coffee Shop. This began as a fundraiser when the building fund was started to replace the Homecraft Centre but quickly became an important part of village life.
Providing a place where people can meet for coffee and cake, the Coffee Shop has a wide range of customers including mums & toddlers and older people. Staffed by volunteer waitresses, all funds raised go towards the running costs of the charity.
