The Cave

CARESCO Cave - 07851 803482

The Cave is a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice new skills and to enjoy making and mending. It is all about social connections and building friendships, sharing expertise and passing on knowledge.

We are based at the back of Sawtry Community Centre, which is sited in the car park behind the Old School Hall on Green End Road (What3Words: reeling.drop.taxed). Our sessions are from 9am - 1pm on Mondays and Thursdays, 9am - 4pm on Tuesdays. For more information, please download our leaflet.

Activities currently include:

  • Replacing watch batteries
  • PAT testing electrical items
  • Woodworking - Bird boxes; insect houses; hedgehog boxes; garden planters
  • Upcycling pre-loved items

Depending on availability, we offer items for local collection via our Facebook page.

We are able to accept donations of secondhand goods for refurbishment projects only by prior arrangement, space, time and manpower allowing. Please contact us to check details and availability. If you are making such a donation and are a UK tax payer, please consider completing our Retail Gift Aid declaration form so that we can claim the tax back on the proceeds from the sale of any items you donate.

Please do not bring your donations without making contact with us first and do not leave anything outside of our workshop when we are closed. Disposal causes us a lot of trouble and expense.

Disabled access available.
